Best way to root droid x 2.2

Ok, i finally got around to doing this but i am getting this error.. The file is there but??

Unable to chmod rage*.bin: No such file or directory

Actually it's not, im seeing /mnt when i browse with Astro??

Yea, im trying to do it with terminal.. I would rather do it manually over using the pc..

I rooted mine through my PC but I see there's an app in the market that roots for you. Its called z4root. Its free so if it doesn't work, no harm no foul

No. don't unmount the sdcard. Should be able to go to the download folder and access the rage zip. Did you download it using the phone?

That would've been nice to have when I first got my DX and had to try the computer root method about 20 times switching from mass storage to pc mode etc... and finally got it to work randomly lol.

Good to know about this though in case anyone else I know wants to root their phone.
