[ROM] [BETA] CyanogenMod 7 for the Droid X

Most likely the same things .........but new bugs cuz of the new kernal....maybe a new sbf?meaning we might have to be clean..im just guessing though.

Been jumping around on a few roms the last couple weeks... mostly out of curiousty.. darkslide was fun... tried a few GB roms too.... but Im back! CM7 still is best to me, regardless of battery issues...

anyways... I've done alot of research about a No Throttle mod... tried a few that were supposed to work, none seemed to.. Now then, is there a no throttle mod MADE FOR CM7, FOR THE DX, on the .340 setup? or can anyone guarantee that its built into CM7?!

thanks... glad to be back on cm!

What kind of performance improvements are we gonna see with the GB kernel on CM7?

We actually might see some bugs get fixed with the new kernel, like camera, without having to have workarounds. No one knows for sure until cvpcs implements it though.

Hate to say it, but I flashed over to .602 and its not half bad. I have it overclocked to 1.2 GHz to get rid of the transition lag... not bad after all the bloatware is gone and some tweaks were flashed.

Hello, oh great ones.

I don't mean to hold back the class and all but I have just gotten back to the US after being away at a music festival in the middle of nowhere with no internet whatsoever. As a result I could not keep up with the times and have been going through various forums to see what I have missed.

Let me tell ya, there are a lot of new topics and terms that people are throwing out there and a lot of mixed comments.

I'm sure that most people just want to get the best out of their DX's. However,it feels like the last explanation we received from the CM team was how to flash cm7 and its various fixes. There is no mention of:

2nd init?
different radios (which one is the best)?
Can anyone come from scratch and skip to the latest nighty, or are there some specific builds that one must pass through in order to not mess up?
rev nightlys?

These questions mainly apply to me, but I do feel like all these topics are being thrown around and are confusing for anyone getting in the cm flashing game. I'm not a noob (started from rooted pre-cupcake G1) and I'm truely confused as to where to go now)

My nightly build is in the low 20's and is from mid July, Kernel 2.6.32.9 with the 07p baseband.

Would appreciate any sage advice as to where to go from here to have the best killer machine optimized for CM7.

2nd init just stands for the term for them hacking into the DX to give us a pure source experience. Cvpcs came up with it. Now we have a whole bunch of roms that run off it like cm7, omgb, omfgb, liquid, ssx, miui and so on.

Rev's nightlies were this guy name rev numbers basically took a nightly and implemented the fixes and a few other reason so you didn't have to flash more than one thing a night. He stopped working on it now and moved on to porting over cm7 to gingerbread for testing.
Basically we you wanna do is if you want a fresh start sbf, root, d2 bootstrap, go into clockwork recovery, wipe data cache, dalvik, flash the latest nightly, flash gapps, and flash razorloves all in one fix.

If you just wanna go from your nightly or any nightly go into clockwork, clear cache and dalvik, flash newest nightly, flash all in one fix and you're set.
Hope this helps.

Thanks man. I appreciate the clarification and time you spent responding. Any advice on the baseband? - a key question I forgot to mention. Some people didn't switch, some people went with "12" some with "13".

13 is the newest. It's supposed to fix all the 3g issues. Remember when you flash it and reboot its gonna ask to re activate your phone so press 1

If I'm not mistaken, cm-7.1.0-RC0-DROIDX-KANG-signed.zip is the original and the nightlies include all the new bug fixes or features. I'm using nightly 69 and it's running great. Idk about the 720p. In case you are interested, the nightlies are here and the change log is here. The OP links to the gapps zip that you may want and there is an all-in-one fix for the camera/youtube/etc floating around here somewhere.

I went from the all in one to nightly 69 I hope it was just me but I had to go back to thr 602 update
