Bluetooth paired but not connected error.

I've tried to set this up on a xp and vista machine and my old phone. I can see what I want to connect to and it does connect. My computers show its connected. My droid says "paired but not conncected". I cannot send files to or from phone. Droid says connection failure. This is through a usb dongle.

download and run bluetooth file tranfer by medieval software.
that should let you send files back and forth.
