Bluetooth

I have a Motorola Milestone XT700 through Ntelos and I can pair but I can't connect , Please Help :icon_eek:

What operating system is your PC running?

I've had success sending and receiving files via bluetooth to Win7 PCs. I have had to manually select 'receive a file' on the PC when sending from the phone though. Haven't tried any other bluetooth tasks.

What are you trying to do with Bluetooth?

I have a quick question preceded by what I know already. I dont use bluetooth that often I dont have much use for it. The other day my wife was able to bluetooth some videos and pictures to me from her AT&T Blackberry (I know AT&T sucks..but she wont change). It worked great. Today I have tried numerous times to send her some pictures and mp3's from my phone to hers and it will not work. My question is, is verizon keeping me from bluetoothing to an AT&T phone?

It's not about her phone number, she has to have her phone's bluetooth set to receive.

I just checked my girlfriend's bb, she doesn't use BT on it, but when I turned it on I had options to search for BT devices or listen.

Just like with the D2, you can set it to be discoverable. That's what listen is on the BB.

OK I just went to media on her blackberry and clicked menu set to recieve, it just flashes transfer canceled.

Yes verizon does prevent you from doing that, they always have had those features blocked on bluetooth, u can send piks n vids, but mp3 u cnt bcuz before we had these cool phones every one had to buy their ringtones n couldn't make them, who ever bought the ringtones would try n send them to their friends so their friends wouldn't have to buy them n that's y verizon blocks it, its to prevent exchange of copy righted material. That's y back in the cingular wireless days, that company was popular because their phones allowed bluetooth transfers without any restriction.

That doesn't make sense. The OP said that he couldn't send pics either. He was asking if Verizon blocked communication to AT&T, not certain file types.
Not to mention you can still email those same files so it is not being blocked.

My bluetooth cant bypass my phone's lock, is there a way around this? I should be able to press the call button on my bluetooth and bring up search. However, to do so I have to unlock the phone which defeats the purpose of hands free...especially during driving.

Also, is there any way I can have my txts read to me like txt-to-talk?

I can send anything I want via email or text but nothing will transfer to her phone via bluetooth. She can send stuff to me though. It really irks me that after all these years verizon is still doing that.

That's my point. Why would Verizon block file transfers over bluetooth but you can send via email? It doesn't make any sense. Blocking one method doesn't prevent the file transfer.
That's why I don't believe Verizon is blocking that.
