I don't think he was trolling. I think he's saving face by SAYING he was trolling, when he had just made a really inaccurate and (un)educated guess about something he thought was true.

haha, does that really help him save face? I think it makes him look like an even bigger moron. I think people would have respected it more if he just said "oops sorry guys, I was mistaken"...
