Calendar eating battery life

Can anyone explain why the calendar is eating up so much of my battery life?! I have not even used this calendar and would prefer to just delete it off the phone is possible. (I know, its not).

The calendar is eating up approx 87% of my battery and causes it to last no more than 4 hours before dying.

Can ANYONE suggest a fix or provide any help?!

Syncing can be the cause. Put your phone for manual sync for all your apps sand see how it goes then on..
