camera questions

Hey, I've been searching through the threads for the auto-focus clicking problem and I couldn't find a definite answer, so here's the question.

When the default camera app is started the camera makes around 5 clicking/beeping sounds. Is that normal or is it a hardware problem? I also just found out that when trying the start the app with the camera button on the side of the phone, nothing happens. Should I take it in for a replacement?

My phone always makes that clicking sound. It seems to be normal.

The camera button's association with the camera died exactly when I received the first update. Somehow, tonight it's working.

Yeah, that's when mine stopped as well.
