Can anyone spare a Google voice invite?

Very confused.

I clicked on this link Google Voice - Features to find out more about GV.

I went to the "try it out" and signed up both myself and my husband's phones for GV, no hassles, no invites. What gives? Is this some kind of trick? I thought they were hard to get...

p.s. lizm- I did get the invite, but I signed up for GV just before getting it so I know it's not that.
