Can I turn off the "Verizon Wireless" voice when someone is calling me?

Can I turn off the voice saying "Verizon Wireless" and just get the ringtone in my Bionic? I have already installed ICS.

never heard this voice, you should be able to just select a different ringtone under settings>sounds

My phone must be haunted then. It's done that since I got it. It announces "Verizon Wireless" and then I get the ringtone. And after a couple of rings it says "Verizon Wireless" again. I wish I could figure out how to turn off that voice. It's irritating.

Maybe I'm the only person with that problem. I've never heard that in anyone else's phone. And it doesn't make any difference what ringtone I use.

Try settings / accessibility / caller ID readout. Set to ring only.

I checked somewhere else, and I've got it fixed.

Settings/Sound/Uncheck Roaming Tone
