can i uninstall preloaded apps from my phone?

The real question is can I install this, delete the locked bookmarks, then uninstall it?

I just uninstalled it and all looks the same. I haven't rebooted my phone though......that could make a difference in the "locked" ones remaining deleted or returning.

EDIT**
Rebooted and my bookmarks are still just my bookmarks. So uninstalling the app is fine after you remove the "locked" ones.

Good find!!

Would that app also give any insight in obtaining root on the D3? If it can allow you to delete locked bookmarks, it might have some kind of special permission, or might expose some system exploit.

Just a thought, I'm no expert.

Without delving in to it at all.....the "locked" bookmarks could just be locked within the stock browser and that's why they are deletable from another app that uses the same bookmark file/storage.

Makes sense. Thanks for the other info as well.

This has me wondering if something like Astro can find the bookmarks in the file system to delete them without even installing anything.

Either way, great find! This is why I love Android. Customization out the wazoo! haha
