Cannot sync Google Calendar to Droid X

Thanks! Option 2 (installing a second gmail account) worked. Although the same error apparently occured on the second account, my original account now has a calender so.............problem solved!

Had same problem,, just did a factory reset, re-synced same account, and Viola! Fixed.

Thank you!! I've wasted a lot of time trying to transfer calendar data to my new Droid X. This solved my problem.

after reading a few dozen posts on how to get birthdays from my contact into my calendar, i have come across a problem. seems that my gmail contact list (on the computer) is not the same as the contact list in my phone. So, i guess i need to find a way to update that. I have tried going into settings, accounts, clicking on my gmail acct, and all my sync items are selected, but something must not be correct. so...how do i get ALL the contacts off my phone to my gmail acct on the computer?? once i do that, i think that i will be able to get all birthdays/ anniversaries on my calendar.

Same issue here

My wife and I upgraded our phones from Blackberry to DroidX due to better availability of apps. Wish the salesperson at Verizon had been more forthcoming about the limitations on DroidX. Contacts don't sync to Gmail and now Calendar has issues too! Wonderful! My blackberry required a daily battery pull / cold start to function correctly; every platform seems to have its glitches.

We have that problem too. Found on this forum that contacts are in a profile created during initial setup, gmail is a different profile. I'm still learning about profiles on DroidX.

Droid does not link to outlook

Since the latest Motorola update my Droid calendar will not link to my desktop outlook. However, my Desktop outlook calendar will link to my Droid. Anyone know what's gong on?

Calendar syncs, but...never finishes

I have a related but slightly different problem that just surfaced a few days ago. I get the 3 sync options on my gmail account setting on the DroidX to sync, and I use the menu function to 'sync now'. mail - sync fine. contacts - sync fine. Calendar - the little white icon with the circular arrows appears indicating sync is in process, and it updates the 'last sync' date under the calendar item, but the icon only spins for second or so every minute or two and never goes away. My appointments added recently to my google calendar from my PC for this week and next are not showing up on the phone, at it sure appears like the phone sync is hung up somehow. Tech support at Verizon was worse than useless - their only recommendation is the universal one of returning to original setting with a hard factory reset. Sigh.

This *may* have something to do with the fact that I have thousands of appointments going back several years on my google calendar, and also dozens going forward. Is there some kind of limit that anyone is aware of? Is anyone else having the issue of the sync operation getting hung up and never completing? (I let it go overnight, it still doesn't finish)

Any ideas or suggestions are most welcome. This kind of nonsense drives me nuts.
