Can't access Recovery Mode

So I rooted Monday morning. Everything was good to go. Or so it seemed.

I went to install a ROM today and I tried getting into recovery Mode but it doesn't go.

Here's what my phone did:

  • manual Power off
  • hold "X", manual turn on
  • keep holding X, let go of power button
  • Goes to white "M"
  • Stays at white M longer than usual
  • Goes black for 2 seconds, then goes back to white M for another 45 seconds
  • goes to Red eye and boots up normally

I tried holding X, I've tried doing it via ROM Manager premium....I'm stumped....I cant get to recovery mode!

I had the same problem with my husband's droid. Go to ROM Manager > menu > clear download cache. This should fix it as it did with my husband's.

Install Sprecovery

Download SpRecovery from here and put it on the sdcard: http://downloads.droidmod.org/recovery-0.99.3.img

Open one of the available Terminal Emulators and type the following - hit enter after each line:

su

flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery-0.99.3.img

reboot recovery

Download and install Rom Manager and use it to flash the recovery program you want to use (clockwork or sprecovery). Continue to flash the desired recovery until it loads quickly. If it takes 20-30 seconds to load, the load is not good - do it again.

Good luck.
