Can't get SD card to unmount for format.

Hi all,

I'm trying to format my SD card, so I go to settings > SD card & phone storage and hit "Unmount SD card." At that point, that text grays out and says "Unmount in progress," and that's as far as it gets. Eventually it stops trying and goes back to it's usual state.

Anyone know how to fix this? Alternatively, would mounting the Droid on my computer and trashing everything on the card do the same thing?

Just plugging in the USB cord should unmount it. I would recommend doing that.

You can hook up to your computer -on phone connect as a mass storage device - format as fat32....should all be good and ready to go.....copy anything you want to save to computer before format.

It worked for me trying to unmount the sd card from settings, and it did say unmounting in progress for a while though. You may have to just leave your phone for a while.:excl:
