Can't get to stock recovery (GB)

Hey I'm having that sync icon crappie problem and I know you can clear cache in the stock recovery. I get stuck at the triangle screen but can't get any further. I then have to pull the battery. Anyone else with this problem or does anyone have a fix?

When you get the triangle press the volume buttons.

Both at the same time? I've tried hitting the search and just a single olume button. Ill try both next

Has anyone located the 3g hotspot app? I can't find it anywhere... On deodexed gb.
