Cant root Droid X

I just got my replacement Droid X because i bricked my other Droid X. My previous X was rooted rom'ed and overclocked. My replacement is from Asurion and i wanted to root and hack it again. I tried to root it the same way my other X was and it just wont root.
I was wondering if newer Droid X's have something to prevent rooting/hacking. I need help I cant stand stock Droid X, especially after having been rooted and rom'ed before.

I had tried rooting according to droid-life.com which worked before.

Make sure you follow the directions and rename the file to apk. After you install z4root on your phone reboot before you run it. Once it reboots make sure you have usb debugging checked and go to z4root and hit permanent root. Hope that helps.
