Rooting Droid X 2.2

Hey guys. i was thinking of replacing my original Droid with the Droid X, but i am wondering how big the hacking community is for the droid x. i know it does not match the original droid but is it a big enough community that there is actually new stable rom releases? and i heard about the droid x possily getting an OTA update, just wondering if that will impair my ability to root it since i will be getting the phone at christmas.

This phone will always be able to be rooted. I wouldn't worry about not being able to root the phone. Newest "ota" is already rooted.

Secondly, check out the DX ROMS section and see for yourself what is available. Because they all use the moto kernal, there all pretty much stable with a few bugs here and there from removing moto's ui, but they are always worked out.

To sum it all up, yes, the community is big enough for you to enjoy the phone.
