cant stop mms / sms notifications......

been running miui for 2 days now and love it. but i do need some guidence.

i choose to use handcent instead of the stock miui messanger. im very hooked on handcent. so, i have turned off all notifications on the stock messanger but i still get the icon notification (the number 1 usually appears on the corner of the icon). no matter what i do, i cannot stop this. i enven tried to put the icon inside of a folder, but the 1 now appears on the corner of the foler.

can anyone tell me what im missing, is there no way to turn off the notifications for the stock messanger ? can i simply uninstall it ?

I was wondering the same thing.

We currently have no control/options to control the iPhone style badges. Perhaps in a later version, but your guess is as good as mine.

My best advice is to put the icon on a screen you rarely use for now, as there is no other way completely hiding the icon plus it's badge.

When I am using handcent > stock Mms.apk, I just delete mms.apk from /system/app and then don't worry about it anymore.

You both just lost the ability to send and receive multimedia messages (pictures/video,sound). Every single 3rd party messaging/texting app uses the stock messaging/texting app to send and receive multimedia messages. Congratulations.
