Solved Can't text one particular contact

I'm not sure if it'll erase your messages or not, but you could try clearing the data of the stock messaging app THEN use your preferred 3rd party app to send a text to that specific contact.

And if that doesn't work, maybe try removing that contact and then manually entering their number in a "new text" window.

I've only heard of one other person having this problem and I vaguely remember them having success with getting a new SIM card. A stop to the Verizon store couldn't hurt.

Thanks, Dezymond. I'll prepare to clear the data by backing up my messages. In the meantime, I can try to remove the contact and then text her manually.

If all else fails you might try a factory data reset. I know that can be a bit of an inconvenience, but if anything is going to solve your problem, this would be it.
Just make sure to back up the text messages you do have, as well as your music, photos, files, etc and double check that your contacts are backed up to Google.
Keep us posted.

Good news! I deleted the contact and the texts and then started a new text and it worked!
