Does anyone know of a car mount that also charges the Droid while the phone is cradled in the mount?

If you want to leave your case on the Droid, such as rubber, silicone, Body Glove, etc., then you need a 'universal' holder.

If you use a "universal" holder, then you need to place a small magnet in the correct location to trigger the car mount process.

I just bought the mount below on Ebay.
It is vented mounted as I wanted, swivels, does not block the charger plug, can accomodate a Droid with case (Fommey.com has one that is similar but does not allow for a case) got good reviews and is cheap.
As shane1v said I can always use Dockrunner or, it seems like a simple thing to figure out to simply have a small magnet with a piece of electrical or duct tape for the back.
We'll see. I'll review after I get it.

My company has some vent mount attachments left that work with the holder I showed in another thread. The holder has the magnet that allows automatic car mode when placed in the holder. Anyone interested can message me for more info.

The only thing I don't like about this vent mount (and others I've tested) is that they do not easily remove from the vent blades, and obviously it blocks the vent which bothers me as since I love my air conditioning!

The Verizon Droid car holder is the same as my Magellan GPS, Roadmate 3050T. This is a double slot slide-on. So any third-party that can hold the the double-slot slideon will work with the Verizon Car Mount.

I am also using the Bracketron universal, so far so good. My husband has been using one with his WinMo for months and highly recommended it as very secure.

As for the magnet, just add a shortcut to your "main" screen for "Car Home" - it comes up in the Applications.

Yes, these holders have an adapter that has the standard AMPS (4-hole) pattern. If you already have your mount you can order just the holder and adapter. Although you can't really see it in this picture, that is a Panavise custom fit mount behind the holder.

Although I have not checked it myself, I am told the Verizon Car holder snaps onto the same size ball as a Garmin portable navigation device. If so, here is a cool way to use the Verizon holder with a custom vehicle specific mount.

It uses this part to attach to a Panavise mount.
