Case and Screen protection recommendations

Every one that complains about orange peel affect IMO is way to picky because its not like you can see it 24/7 or when using the device the only time I notice the orange peel is when holding it to the light really not something to cry about

I don't know about you, but I'm outdoors alot and the orange peel effect was very noticeable, in fact obvious. Also the fact that the Zagg holds onto dirt more than any other screen protector I've used is a huge negative for me as I am very active and play alot of basketball. Zagg isn't for me, but maybe it's for you.

I've always have good luck with Verizon screen protectors (NOT the Anti-glare ones) and the Verizon hard rubber clamshell case and holster.

I had a Zagg screen protector on my Thunderbolt and there was a lot of resistance when swiping. Also, it looked wavy. I have the Verizon protector on Gnex and had it on my DX and Bionic and it was barely noticeable.

I just went and got the zagg installed, slight orange peel, not bad tho, and the feel so far is just like the glass it got put on. And for cleaning, from d1 experience only the microfiber cloths work, and then you can use the application spray to help keep it fresh.

Ill see how I feel in a few days, but about the cases... its obviously sedio again they were the only ones to make anything I liked for the d1 and they did it again, full coverage, but i am having difficulty choosing b/t the active and surface

Radioshack didn't cross my mind now that I think about it. I don't go retail stores that much anymore, if I do it's usually Fry's or Target. Amazon ftw:hail:

I went to radioshack for that 1 year deal incase I wanted the gnex, didn't work for me though so I kept the razr, but its reassuring to know that if I can snag an early upgrade I'm not out a 50$ case!

i did have the xo skin on mine. it didn't cover the entire screen, was really rubbery feeling, make the screen grainy, and affected touch sensitivity. needless to say i pulled it off. lol

had a zagg on my droid inc, it was really thick and durable, but darkened the screen and looked like ass.

they both had the "orange peel" affect, but the zagg was by far worse, if that bothers you.

i just ordered the steinheil oleophobic from amazon :D

Since the dots are so flat, you probably can't use any case with the dock that's coming out.

Unless the aftermarket companies make specific ones for their own cases, I don't think any cases will work with docks.

Agreed.

The connectors are flush and unless any dock uses some sort of extended prongs/connector, I doubt a case would work with any future docks coming out.

I tried the Steinheil, hated it and threw it away.

I'm going naked. The screen seems durable and is fingerprint resistant without a protector.
