That looks just like my old case after I took a exacto knife to it. At first I thought I wouldn't want the battery cover exposed but I haven't had any problems so far.
if they look professional and not just an exacto hack job then i'm happy with the case...i personally don't have the skill to chop out a hole in a case and make it look presentable. Why spend $$$ to have a computer tech clean your computer from virus's when you can just search on the internet and figure it out yourself...alot people have neither the time or desire to do it. It's what makes the money flow.
not too late...Seidio hasn't even released theirs yet, the only ones i can find commercially for sale are the HTCpedia ones and i guess they're now sold out.
wow, got my HTCPedia case today...wildly disappointed...worst exacto knife cut job ever for a retail product.....oh well let the buyer beware definately on this one. My 9 year old could have cut it out straighter.

Well, I was gonna keep it quiet for now, but Seidio is sending me a CONVERT case for the 2750mAh equipped thunderbolt as soon as its ready to ship for a review.
Probably looking at a few weeks till I get it possibly, stay tuned...
