I am not a fan of any of the tp teams, my team was garbage this year but as a college football fan I can't stand the politics and lack of a real champion through playoffs.

Pro football only has a quarter of the teams and play more games and yet even they don't just declare the two teams with the best records to represent the SB. Could you imagine if after the season, they just put GB and SF in the SB based on records and no playoffs?

As soon as the BCS standings were complete, they should have one playoff weekend before the bowls. #1 vs #4 and #2 vs # 3. Then the winners play for the BCS championship today and the bowl committee doesn't lose any precious money.

Couldn't have said it better myself......whoever wins tonight is the "BCS" chamoion. But not necessarily the outright NCAA Div 1 champion.

I think if LSU wins they are outright champs and earned it, only undefeated team left. An Alabama win shows they deserve some number 1 love too though. Well I don't agree with the process of picking who plays for the championship, I am ok calling the winner of tonight's game the outright Champion. I think OSU deserved a shot but unfortunately the system doesn't allow it but Alabama's only loss came to LSU so it's tough to argue them too, ahhhhh so confusing......haha

Bama won. They won the BCS champs and the AP champs. Those are the only championships given in college football. Bama is the undisputed outright champion

Shut LSU down, this is why OSU was never a consideration, LSU would have run over OSU , and Alabama would have embarrassed them, Alabama, also, should have won their earlier meeting (with LSU) but... Get ready for some Nebraska smugness, they don't quite have a Brett Maher.

Good dominate game by Alabama. But truth is without a playoff format, we'll never know how things would play out.

BCS is flawed. But money will rule over always.

Even with a 4 team playoff people will complain about the fifth team being left out. College basketball has a 68 team playoff and every year ESPN does a 2 hour show about who got left out that should have been included. I guess the point is there will always be someone complaining and the system in place now is what we have. The SEC has proposed a playoff system the past 3 years, the other conferences, namely the PAC 10, have voted against a playoff.
