Complete Droid X .sbf Flashing Guide

well, thats the only number i see. the "android system recovery" says <3e>

rsd 4.7
latest drivers
windows xp
running as admin
lol yes many, many times.

Uninstall RSD Lite and use the MotoConnect application to clean out all the old drivers. Reboot the PC. Reinstall the drivers using the MotoConnect app. Reboot the PC. Reinstall RSD Lite. Put the phone in the bootloader, fire up RSD Lite, plug the phone in. If you STILL can't get it to work, even with RSD Lite 4.9 then try a different USB port. Once you've tried all of them and it still won't work try another PC. RSD Lite is notorious for being finicky. Or burn a Ubuntu live CD and try SBF Flash.

ok, so now, not only did none of that work, the battery is dead, and as I understand it, the phone won't charge in recovery :( any other ways to do things? i thought of this when I woke up this morning, in the stock android recovery, when I could get to it, it said install update.zip, so I thought if it shows that, could I replace that with a backup and see if I can trick it into installing a backup file?

stuck on 2.3.9 flyx with 30.01 bootloader

I apologize if this issue has already been covered but...

I'm stuck on 2.3.9 and have tried flashing "the_gift" from tbh and have gotten nothing but errors. Thankfully without bricking my phone.

Anyone got an idea? I'd really like to ota my X

Yeah. It was the first froyo leak from wayyy back...

I fixed the problem. It was a windows 7 rsd lite issue..

Backflashed to 2.1 and ota'd 2.3.340 running rubix. Makes froyo 2.3.9 leak look horrendous.

I am running Liberty 2.0.1. Like many, I am very interested in trying the new official Gingerbread release from Verizon/Motorola. I understand and know it is not possible to upgrade on a rooted/ROMed phone. So, my question is...

Is it possible to do a factory restore on a ROMed and rooted phone or do I really need to do an SBF? If an SBF is needed, can some one guide me to a viable and relevant link for doing so? I noticed a lot of SBF articles are not very current.

Thanks for any help possible.

You have to do the .sbf. And for instructions, well, you just posted in the best sbf instruction thread on here. It is in no way outdated.

gotta quick question before starting this process in the upcoming week...

droid x showing bootloader 30.4 error.
downloading RSDLite 4.9
downloading Android 2.2.1 System Version 2.3.340 Full (VRZ_MB810_2.3.34_1FF_01) from here http://sites.google.com/site/1kdsdroidx/home

is that correct so far? i am coming from BB9630, but had a D1 mid-sept, somewhat coherent of the SBF process just not sure of how to do without fully bricking the phone...

what about the bootstrapper and all that jazz? as stated the last i dealt with SBFs was D1.

Is your battery charged to atleast 80%? I know I got the error when mine wasn't.
