It's a minor quirk, but on my Eris I favor the basic scrolling HTC contacts/people widget. Maybe I'm anal, but among the contacts I want easy access to, there are a number I'd prefer to come first, rather than lumped in their alphabetical places, so what I tried doing was editing in a space in front of their names. This works initially, but it only lasts for as long as the phone is left on. As soon as it reboots, like after the battery dies or whatever, the space is automatically deleted and the contact is realphabetized. I also tried placing a solid dot in front of the name, with a space between, but on reboot, even the dot dissapeared.
Short of putting a number or a in front of mypreferred contacts names, does anyone know of a way I can bypass this? Or failing that, an alternative scrolling contact widget I might prefer? And purely out of curiosity, why does this happen?
