Copycats

Really? You guys weren't winmo users back in the day were you? When winmo 5 came out, they ALL looked the same (up to the 6700 from HTC). Smartphone manufacturers get hold of a design, and beat it into the ground.

So, because it has a slide-out keyboard, it looks just like the Droid? Hardly.

That's kinda my thought. I guess that means that a LOT of phones look like the Droid... and conversely, the Droid looks like a lot of it's predecessors...

This phone and the Droid really don't look that much alike. In fact, they look quite different. I'm not sure what you guys are getting at here, but it's bordering on fanboyism. :P

I was about to say -- the Droid is hardly the first slider. Many devices will look similar to each other just because there are only so many permutations of features. I could possibly see how an average Joe might confuse this with the Droid but it definitely looks nothing the Droid (assuming you can see beyond just the slider, that is).

the biggest thing about that phone that I like over the droid.....the back...it has a solid piece. not the silly half back slide cover the droid has...thats the only reason I have a case on my phone is cause that damned thing kept sliding off everytime i take it out of my pocket

Your points are valid as there are many phones with similar designs; however, I was making more of a point that I'm sure the Droid played some part in inspiring the design for this prototype. This is not only because of the similar slider, but also the less curved edges like the Droid and position of the Headphone jack, which looks to just be on the opposite side of the Droids.
