Could you use 3g on thunderbolt?

Im thinking about getting a thunderbolt from somebody but I currently don't have 4g on my plan. Could I use it with only 3g service meanwhile I figure something out with the 4g??
Sorry if its been answered I just needa know real quick :) thanks!

To answer your question... Yes, you can. I currently am, as we don't have 4G out here, yet (should be soon) so I just deactivated the 4G radio on my phone until it comes. If you aren't going to use 4G, or don't have 4G in your area, you will need to do this, as your battery will drain while the phone actively searches for it.

As for 'figuring out' 4G, there is nothing to figure out. 3G & 4G is covered under the same price. If you pay for data, for right now, you are paying for whatever the phone can pick up. I was paying $30 a month for unlimited 3G when I had my Droid, and now I'm paying $30 for unlimited 3G & 4G with the TBolt. Until they go to tiers, there is nothing to figure out.
