There was a bit of confusion over the weekend surrounding reports that Cyanogen would be giving up on the Operating Business in favor of going in to the app business. This would not be shocking news if it were true as Cyanogen just finished laying off more than 20% of its work force. AndroidPolice cited sources which said that Cyanogen would be pivoting to Apps.
Today Kirt McMaster the CEO of Cyanogen Inc took to twitter to clear the air.
While it doesn't look like Cyanogen will be "putting a bullet in Google's head" anytime soon it is nice to know that they will remain committed to continuing the development of one of our favorite Operating systems.
