But what proof do you have that the phone is still under warranty? That's the problem. Without a receipt in the system they can't verify date-of-purchase. Ergo the warranty fail.

If its activated as CPE (Customer Provided Equipment), the warranty is voided. My store doesn't honor any phone purchased on CL, eBay, a friend, or an authorized retailer.

It doesn't matter where you buy the phone, Verizon, motorola and asurion will cover any phone on the account. I've already spoken to all three about this on the phone.

Well, like I said, Motorola might... If SF is right (and I'm not saying he is, just asking for a link, pretty please?) then punch it in and get it taken care of ASAP if it's still covered.

Like, tonight and junk. :)

Sure thing,I was gonna drop the link in last post but I'm playing GT 5 special event rally lol.

As a previously certified Motorola technician, I never understood why everyone decided to go with the current USB style? The Motorola USB style charge port is very fragile, and they wonMt cover under warranty if it's damaged. Nokia had a great concept, but no one accepted.

My power button isn't showing signs of failure at all.

Neither was mine, one day it just fell in

Mine has been loose for a while and I managed to tighten it up every time by bending the tabs up slightly where it splits( on the phone) but my issue now is, if I don't drop it in the dock and just connect directly, the phone reboots. Its quite annoying to have to carry my dock with me.

well i'll be damned. it's still supposedly under warranty until January.

Should i take it to my local Verizon premium retailer or a corporate store? Nearest corporate store is 40 miles away.

Call Motorola, not Verizon. Verizon will deny the warranty. Droid DOES!! is a Verizon Rep and if he says that you have no warranty with them he means it.

Motorola may still honor it, but contact them tonight/tomorrow.

Well if the premium retailer won't do anything about it tomorrow (there's one in my town) the i'll call Verizon, and if they won't, then Motorola. The local store (not corporate) might do it.

I think that's BS that "CPE voids the warranty".

CPE technically only voids warranty at the carrier level.
