[DEAL ALERT] LG 55UF6450 55" 4K Ultra HD 2160p 120Hz Smart HDTV (4K x 2K)

I pick this TV up about three weeks ago at our local Walmart for $515. Wife didn't want to go that big but for the price couldn't pass it up. I love it and the picture on this is unreal.

Where do you guys find content for 4k tvs? And I don't mean youtube videos but movies and prime time shows like walking dead and Vikings?

Well, that's the thing xeene...it has to be filmed in 4K for it to work. TWD is not shot in 4K.
Mine phone records in 4K...some day I'd like to see how good that works...but I currently have nowhere to play anything I might film.

That's the problem the industry is facing. There are tons of 4k equipment but nothing to watch on them. Here is a good article on the subject
Why You Shouldn't Buy A New TV For Super Bowl 50
Broadcast dustry is in really bad state right now when they shoot content in 5k yet have nothing to stream it with above HD.

One advantage of 4k tvs is they make excellent pc monitors!

Thats why i bought another 1080p TV in 2014 instead of a 4K TV. There isn't any content. Bluray is upconverted through my PS4 if i were to have 4K. By the time 4K is out and about I'll be in the market for another TV. To me, the problem is that 4K isn't really that much more amazing on normal size TVs compared to 1080p but back when HD was coming out, 1080p was amazing compared to 480p. Streaming services just don't have the bandwidth and neither do most people in their house to stream it.

Also why I told anyone who asked me (and many do) around Christmas time to save money and just get 1080p.

This is a pretty good deal, though.

except there are 1080p TV's that are more expensive than this.... the only reason I think I'd buy a 1080p TV over this one is for the 3D which I really enjoyed on my sony (granted it was active 3D which is 100000000 * better than that passive junk)
