There are no Target's in California?!?! I know there may not be a warehouse or anything but if there is any kind of physical presence of the company such as a local store, warehouse, or HQ, even if you are just ordering from online, you should still be required to pay sales tax. Now, it could be that their [online] wireless service operates as a separate entity but I find that weird since they have mobile wireless sales in the store, unless that is a separate entity from the online wireless sales. As for tax being applied to the full retail price over the discounted price is beyond me. That's just weird. Tax is charged on the sale amount. In other words, the amount that was paid in a transaction. Unless however, it is a discount that is applied to the order (and not the individual item). Say for instance $100 off when spending $150 on an order or even just a certain item. You would be charged the tax on $150, not just $50. So that is just really weird.
