Here's some alternate carrier info for the SGS3 that we thought you guys might find useful. The title to this story is a bit messy, but the gist of it is that a massive demand for the new Samsung Galaxy S III phone has caused some shipping delays for Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T. However, before we dig into the details of the delay, there is some bright news for some lucky users. Apparently some of the 16GB versions of the SGS3 from Sprint have already shipped last night and will be in customer's hands today or tomorrow! That's certainly exciting news for a few folks out there. Now, let's tackle the delays:

AT&T:
Currently some preorder AT&T SGS3 phones are listed as "backordered." There has been no official word from AT&T whether they will be delayed by this or not, so it is likely that only some customers will experience a delay. This only applies to the 16GB model because that is the only one that AT&T is offering at this time.

Sprint:
Interestingly, even though some folks are going to get their Sprint 16GB SGS3 a bit early, others will have to wait a bit longer. Sprint still plans to try and get most of their 16GB models shipped out by the 21st of June or a day or two late at the most. As far as their 32GB model is concerned, folks will have to wait until at least next week for those to ship.

T-Mobile:
Due to the massive preorder demand for the device, T-Mobile has made a strange decision. They plan to only ship out their SGS3 by June 21st to their “top 29 markets.” Everyone else outside of those markets will have to wait until at least the 27th of June. Here are those markets:
  • LosAngeles,CA
  • Chicago,IL
  • Phoenix,AZ
  • Houston,TX
  • SanDiego,CA
  • NewYork,NY
  • Seattle,WA
  • Miami/Ft.Lauderdale,FL

I wonder if this is why verizon slightly delayed theirs. Excessive pre orders.

18 days is more than slightly...if it was the 28th, I could see that as the reason

18 days? I thought verizons just got moved back a day
