that was funny, but i dont get my droid until christmas
so question: is there any truth to any of that? things i should be worried about? (dont worry, im super excited to get this phone either way)
Not much at all. It is his personal opinion of the product. He apparently loves the Iphone, and that is his right as a consumer. I will give him that, I don't think the physical keyboard was brought in with much forethought, it is moderate to decent when you've used it long enough, but i still prefer the virtual keyboard.
There are some apps that don't work. The reason is because the app marketplace doesn't differentiate between those for 2.0 and those for prior OS releases. While most for prior releases work just fine, some unfortunately do not. Unlike him i've not had a problem with receiving or placing phone calls, ever. I think it is more to the fact that he's been using the Iphone for so long he's just used to how that works, which is understandable and I won't fault him on that. I have also never had an app not come up, ever. I've got around 40 apps installed and usually around 10-15 running at all times, i have had once or twice the android OS went to 100% cpu usage and i had to power it down. (twice in 1 month) I don't think it's that bad for being the first 2.0 system out. Just wait for a update or two, and things like that should be zero'd out.
To his whole phone problem, i have not had that happen ever, things respond just as quickly as they have for anything else. And to date i've never heard of anyone else having that same problem either. (Not saying others haven't, just none that I know of)
While I may agree with him that i think that motorola did push this product out maybe a couple weeks too early to meet deadlines, but so far i haven't seen that effect it in many ways other then a big Microsoft Exchange overlook. Other then that, phones have bugs that get worked out. And whether he wants to admit it or not, the iphone of today is not the iphone of yesterday. The iphone started out with many bugs and issues, and is why apple offered a reduction in price to those who upgraded to the next model, they knew it sucked, just as much as the consumer did. Don't expect a godly unit as the first unit to have a new operating system.
