Dim button not working?

So I've have my Droid since Christmas and I haven't had any problems with it until last month.

Idk if its the dim button or just my screen but, whenever I try to turn my screen on with the dim button it won't work the the first time, it just stays dark. It takes me like two-five times just to get the screen to light up.

At the beginning of the problem I could just slide it up for it to turn on after I realized the button wasn't working. But now that doesn't work either.

Its not really a BIG deal but it is very irritating & I'm afraid that one day the whole screen won't turn on.

So, can I return it & get a new one (I'm still under warrenty)?
Or do I have to stick it out?

As long as you didn't get it wet and it doesn't LOOK like you abused it then you should be able to walk into a Verizon store and walk out with a new (refurbished) phone.
