Disabling Text Messing app??

Is there a way to disable the text messaging app now that I've switched to Go SMS PRO?
I don't want txts going to old app anymore.

Go into your texts, then go into the settings and turn off the auto retrieve checkbox

I did that. For some reason it is still duplicating them.

That's weird bc I did it and its been fine. I pretty much disabled anythin in my txt settings.

Yup, turned off all options for default text messaging.
Still duplicating.
Not a huge deal, just seems like it will take up unnecessary space.
Also when I went to delete old messages from old messenger, it also cleared out copies in GoSMS
Odd.

Try emailing the developer of go SMS. See if their app is tied to the stock app. I use handcent and I get the texts in both apps also.

This question has been asked countless times before.

You don't disable the stock app. You disable its notifications. Disabling the stock app will break the messaging on your device.

Actually in GoSMS Pro, there is an option under "Important Tips" with a checkbox to hit if you DID delete stock SMS.
