Discussion: Amazon's scare tactic too harsh?

Reading an article about Amazon's method of deterring employee theft I could not help to feel like I saw nothing wrong. The only issue I would have would have been if they revealed the identity of the thief. Loss prevention is a big part of retail and it is tough when the ones committing the theft are employees. So I personally do not see an issue but I am curious what you guys think.

Amazon is using scare tactics to deter employee theft

I see nothing wrong with it, even if they were revealing the person's identity. Technically, outside of any company, if one is caught stealing (or any other crime) by the authorities, it's generally public record. Anybody could see it if they decided to go dig it up.
