I have a Droid X that never received the OTA for 2.3.340. It's stuck on 2.3.151. So therefore I can't even get the OTA for 4.5.596. Is it possible to SBF to 2.3.340, then try and manually pull the OTA for 4.5.596?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yep, once you SBF to .340 you can get the .596 OTA
