Do you ever "reboot" your Droid?

When I click POWER OFF, it just goes through a shut down.

I keep seeing "rooting" and "root access" but I have nooo idea what that is. :)

I just turned it back on. So I guess it's rebooted. :)

(it was different on Blackberry - rebooting and turning off/on were different)

Yeah, it's rebooted! Check out the other areas of the forum and you'll find all you need to know about rooting. Enjoy your phone!

Thanks guys! :) I am determined to learn this Droid inside and out.

edit: just read part of the rootkit post. Voided warranty? no no no.

You're DEF in the right place for that!!! I personally love that I will never know everything about this phone and there's always going to be more than I think I know! We'll never really "out grow" these amazing devices!

Sent from my Droid using DroidForums app (free in market)

I reboot when things don't appear to be working right. Maybe the browser is slow, or something else doesn't work right. A reboot seems to help. It sure doesn't hurt.

I need some help here. Every time I reboot my phone ,which is at least once a day it, resends old txt messages to everyone I've texted. Its a random text too, it can be the last text I sent them or from a couple day ago. Its so bad that people know when I reboort my phone cause they get the random old text regularly when I reboot. Has anyone seen this or know of a solution? I've done *228 and also fix permissions and nothing. HELP!!! rooted, CM 6.1 RC4 stock kernal, no themes. FYI this has done this on CM 6.0 and up

Two questions:

Are you running the stock messaging app? Have you done at least a cache wipe/cleared your Dalvik at any point during your upgrade process?

I only reboot the phone to reset my battery since I have the Seidio 2800mAh. Prior to that, I never needed to reboot it unless I was changing the ROM or theme.

Using hadcent. did the usual wipe data wipe cache manually from recovery. Is that different from dalvick cache?

I just uninstalled Hanscent, so I cant go back in and see where it is, but look thru the menus. I believe I saw a setting that said something to the effect of "Resend text messages after reboot"... That could be the culprit.
