a message poped up on my phone.

2.01 is a mandatory/required update you have to do. If you don't the message will pop up every half hour and you will not be able to do any further upgrades (ie: 2.1 will not be available to your phone without 2.01).

ok. I THOUGHT all my contacts were gone after the update

Which would have been annoying since I don't like to live in the cloud and therefore hadn't backed them up to Gmail yet...

However, you can bet your ass their backed up now!

Anyway, thought they were gone, but it was simply a setting on the phone that had changed. For some reason the update changed a 'display' setting in contacts that only displayed contacts flagged as 'My Contacts." (even though I had never flagged any contacts any such way)

Once I re-checked 'All Other Contacts' everyone reappeared.

fixed everything. ripped the battery out while the phone was on (hard reset) and threw the phone against the wall. everything works now. awesome!

I know im going to get nailed by the mods, but seriously how old are you? You make a post, whine and talk about throwing your phone... seriously immature and unnecessary. :blink:
