I honestly didn't notice much (if any) of a difference from when the back cover was on compared to it off. Ill just stick with the small hole that looks better.

I hear ya (pun lol).
It's definitely not noticeable enough to go chomping through my cover.

i cut mine out a little extra along with my silicon case too. the case doesn't look as pretty as i'd like, but it definitely sounds a lot better. i might grab another silicon case and try again now that i know what i am doing. i do notice extra volume, but it's not double the output. it does sound better though. before it sounded all muffled, now it sounds really nice.
