Download the ICS leak or wait for OTA

i just upgraded to ICS. one question: when i touch the internet address bar, instead of highlighting the entire address, so that whatever i type replaces whatever is currently there, it now only places the cursor wherever i touched. this is HIGHLY annoying! any help??

After you download the ICS, go to Settings, About Phone and Software Information, it should look like this:

Just place you finger on the last letter icon and slide your finger to the left, highlight complete. By the way, why just not use the new more improved search option by just using the microphone, and speaking the website you want to go to, plus you can open as many windows as you want, in windows browser hit the menu and chose windows.

Everyone here has to understand, this is :hail:ICS, the latest and greatest software version from Google, it has many more features than the previous slow and clunky Gingerbread, well compared to :hail:ICS, Gingerbread was clunky:biggrin:.

I have been a proponent of waiting for the OTA, but I too am running out of patience.

The ice leak has good reviews.

jb is out. why should I be waiting for ics?

why is Verizon playing games?
Verizon is just spreading hatred among their customers. a stupid thing to do.

I have soff and can ruu to gb if needed. just not looking forward to possibly needing to do all that work. but, indeed I getting tired of waiti.

Sorry dude, I'm really happy for you and I'm gonna let you finish, but my GB is flawless. Don't bash something that works beautifully! Shame you had problems with yours, makes the whole waiting thing much easier...

Edit: I also use TSF Shell, which makes the phone that much greater. So I don't even know how much of the new ICS features I'll really even be able to take advantage of. TSF Shell <333

Why are you trying to bash me, since you are cluless, I will refrain myself from continuing this conversation. By the way, do I know you.

It's the same on mine for the stock browser but xscope and Firefox each work normally.

Does anyone know the answer to this? My phone isn't 2 weeks old yet, I don't want to upgrade, then notice a problem, and not be able to get a replacement.

If you upgrade to the ics leak and there is a problem with your phone and you want to return it I don't think they will take it. But you can't revert back to gb unless you are s-off.

A lot of people are having great experiences with the ics leak. I myself had a bad experience with it. I started getting bad data drops with it. I flashed it the right way and that was the only problem I had with it. So what I did. Well, rooted it and installed Clean rom 4.3 standard. My first time rooting the phone. Omg, what difference it is compared to stock. And it doesn't have all that bs that the ics leak has. Free wifi tether and other great stuff. Yah, I might have voided the warranty but it's worth it. If you don't want to install the ics leak at least take a look at rooting it with a gb rom and you'll see how smooth your phone runs.

Are you serious, the guy has a new phone, and is nervous already about a clean and sound HTC build ICS leak, and you telling him to root and void the warranty, the ICS leak is a breeze to download, nothing like rooting.

Lol look at what you just told him also cyber. You just told him to download the latest ics leak and if he does install it. It will void his warranty also. But read what I just said. If he was to root it with a gb rom at least he can revert back to stock, relock the bootloader and send it back to Verizon without a problem. I know it's a complicated process of rooting and loading a rom but hey it's worth it. But he could have a bad experience like I did installing the new ics leak and having problems with it. So what now? He can't send it back to Verizon with that unofficial ics installed on the phone. His only option would be like me. Bite the bullet and root the phone and install a good working ics rom. And tbh, I don't know why I waited this long to root my phone. This ics rom runs alot smoother than the ics leak. But that's just my opinion.

Voodoo, it's up to you. If your afraid of something going wrong with the ics leak and the phone not running right. And you can't send it back to Verizon then just stay on gb and wait. Once you install the ics leak. Just remember you can't revert back to gb.

I've got the replacement plan with Asurion. Now that I have the leak installed is it still good for anything or should I cancel.

I was in the same boat as the op. I wanted to wait for the ota. With each thread about how great the latest ics leak was I became more impatient. I finally decided to just go for it and I have been satisfied ever since. The process is extremely simple but as you have seen some ppl have had problems with the leak(me personally have never had a single problem) no matter what we all say its your phone and you have to make the final decision.

That plan covers other kinds on losses also, right? So why cancel it? If it goes swimming they will not know about ICS.
