Just call verizon and tell them you are tired of getting the same beat phone and you WANT a different model replacement. You have to tell them what you want don't ask them. I had my two D1 replaced for D2 but I told the guy I was tired of dealing with the issue and either I got a different model or I wanted out on my contract.

My wife's D2 does the same thing so even an upgrade may not help.
