Eh, that's $553,000!
I was just putting out the feelers to see if there were any takers.

Went to work today and after finishing the job after about 3.5 hours, went back to the shop. When I got there, I got something that I was afraid was coming. I got laid off. I've never in... 28 years of working, ever been laid off or fired. I've never been unemployed.

So, I thought I'd see if someone would buy the phone for enough to pay off the house. I don't want to get rid of it, but I might for that amount.

Enjoy the weekend everyone because you just never know what is going to happen tomorrow. As for me, I'm going to go out in the garage, change the tires on three of my sportbikes and take one out and ride it like there ain't no tomorrow.

Wow...I have nothing but good thoughts for you Jim, I wish you and your family the best...and if I had an extra 500 Large laying around, I would be glad to help

Sorry man. Never good news to hear. Enjoy that bike ride, things always fall back into place so don't worry. Roller coaster's got to roll to the bottom if you wanna climb to the top again...

Sorry to hear this Jim...

I've witnessed a lot of friends and acquaintances lose their jobs lately.

Get out there today and just enjoy yourself. Perhaps it's a gift and you will find yourself in a better job with better pay : )

Good luck Jim!!

I don't know you.

But would like to say good luck. For every door that closes another opens. It may be for the best. With the work experience you have, you should have no problem finding the next!

As you can tell in my user ID, I'm a Kawasaki Ninja 636 man myself. See you out on the track someday. Maybe Thunderbolt in NJ? Lets get all Droid Ryders together for a track day.

Wow!

I just lost my job also!.. I feel you bro.. Im going to jump on one of my Gixers, & also take a long ride!..

All will work itself out brother!

I moved up to pa to fly, got screwed over just after purchasing a house, my wife got laid off as well.

We're recovering.

If it happens again with this economy and gov't, I'm going to move again, to become an ex-pat.... plenty of flying overseas...

Sorry you've joined the increasing unemployed ... stay sane.

Too bad.

I lost my job at the end of March. Went from 5 in the department to 2, a few months later, that dropped in half.

Not good, not good. I'd have fewer posts here if I were working.

Thanks all I know my situation is not unique in any way.

Yeah, my wife's job cut her from 32 hrs/week to 4, and with a 66 mile round trip commute... why bother. Her boss refuses to fire her though.

Sorry to hear...

After 28 years you've paid into the system enough to let it help support you while you get back on your feet... this is exactly what it's for: hard working people with hardships.

I had the same thing happen to me about 2 years ago... was out of work for 6-8 months, came back and now I'm making 3x as much in a middle management role as opposed to the job that laid me off. Keep your head up bro, things will turn around.

Oh, and be careful on that ride... wouldn't want to do anything scary in the heat of the moment, after all you do still have your health. :)
