Hey i need to send my phone in and i unrooted 2.1 but now i have the ninja still there. And when i try to flash the 2.0.1 sbf file, the rsdlite says platform not supported... any help?

Same thing happened when I went back to stock. The superuser permissions app is in your phone's system, which, ironically, you no longer have access to anymore.

So basically you're stuck with that icon, and no SU.

rename to .apk and try putting this SuperUser.apk on your SD card then use astro and click on it, go in to installer and uninstall. not sure if it will work but give it a try.

I used clockwork and selected a backup, then did factory reset with a data wipe, got 2.0.1 back on without the sbf file.. then downloaded the 2.1 stock file and renamed it update.zip, there was a guide i followed online, with the steps and also a mount -o ....command, and i removed superuser permissions but the icon is still there. And i cannot get the sbf file to work through rsdlite. it gives me unknown platform.

This guide right here.

from mrZoSo

I could not do the su
mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system
rm /system/bin/busybox
rm /system/xbin/busybox
rm /system/app/Superuser.apk
mv /system/recovery-from-boot.old /system/recovery-from-boot.p

it gave me an error on step 1...mount -o remount,rw -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock4 /system

you cant un root by using a previous backup you made. because if you made it you were rooted. you need to flash the sbf back.

edit: thats is very old and not compatible with clockwork

Alternative back to stock (update.zip method):

  1. Download 2.01 stock update.zip
  2. rename the downloaded file to update.zip (if you don't see the .zip in the downloaded filename don't add it because the file extensions are hidden from you.)
  3. mount Droid to computer
  4. copy file from computer to root of sdcard
  5. unmount card from computer
  6. hold X while rebooting until SPRecovery screen comes up
  7. install
  8. allow update.zip
  9. install /sdcard/update.zip (depreciated)
credit to rootyourdroid.info for the update.zip file

You now are on stock 2.01. None of your data or market apps from your previous installation have been removed. (setcpu, root manager, etc will still exist)

if you are on 2.01 In RM flash alternate recovery (sprecovery)

android system recovery.

assert failed: !less_than_int(1259199777, getprop("ro.build.date.utc"))

Now this.
I wonder if i can format the sd card and try the sbf file again

Moved to Rescue Squad for further assistance. OP, please read the stickies in this forum. Thank you.

Are you running windows 7, if so its must be named update
are you on sprecovery or clockwork. In sprecovery you gonna run that update twice. First to get rid o sprecovery and second to get rid of root, but both times you must allow update.zip before install. ALso it is important that you did not update to 2.1 or that will not work.

If you gonna use rsdlite might as well use 2.1 rsdlite.

because I have to head to work I will place this thread in out alert section. That way another rs member can takeover. where i left off.
