Droid 3 News Compilation: July 7th Launch, User Guide, 360 Degree View

512mb, no 4g, blur, and probably the inability to remove it. i really want a physical keyboard but i'd rather have a decent phone first.

Those of you with the OG Droid, this is probably the upgrade you've been waiting for.
Not quite. No 4G and only 512 RAM are probably deal breakers for me.

Also, they can keep the physical keyboard and if the bootloader's locked, they can keep the phone as well.

Yeah same for me. I would love this phone if it was given to me but the next phone that gets my money is most def gonna be 4G. Still, this is gonna be a cool phone. I'm also looking forward to a nice thin phone with no physical KB. Droid2 is the only slider Ive ever owned. Just looking for a change

Wait for the Bionic. It may only be one more month away.

I'm assuming he was confused. He meant he wanted 1GB of RAM, not 1Ghz. Obviously Ghz is the speed of the CPU, not the amount of RAM.

I'm very interested in this phone to replace my 1st Gen Droid. I hope its worth it once I see the specs, this is one phone that isn't discussed much and I can't find official specs on it anywhere. I like that it has the slide out QWERTY keyboard keeping with the style of my current D1 I use it a lot and I have tried some of the new top end phones that came out but I don't know if I can use an all touch screen phone. Even writing this I'm using my keyboard as I'm able to go much faster.

Ill be watching on here for updates so ill hope for the best on specs.

I need to see this phone and get a feel for it. Some of these new phones just feel cheaply made. If this one is like the D1, it could be a big hit.

It may be a great alternative to the Bionic. I like the keyboard also. If the processor can run quick enough, I'm not sure 512mb of ram is a problem. Not having 4G is no big deal if you do not live in/near one of the large cities.

So, if I understand correctly. The only differences between the droid 2 and droid 3 is a different keyboard layout and a 2nd core since the droid 2 already has 512 mb ram and is already running at 1ghz (single core)? So really if your on droid 2 there is zero reason to waste an upgrade?

According to Verizon 4g LTE will be EVERYWHERE in 2012, so really why bother with 3g phones anymore when you will most likely have 4g next year?

EVERYWHERE is not the correct term. They will be in several large markets (major cities), but many of us live in small towns and rural areas. We will not see 4G for several years.

I can't believe people are still crying about the lack of 4g...
