Droid Dock

if you press the lock button while in the dock it will turn the screen off... that's what i do for the brightness issue.

It's too bright for me at night too.

that's what I'm doing right now too, but that kinda defeats the purpose of the dock being used as a clock on my bedside table.

Verizon unresponsive on dock order

I ordered my dock online on 11/17 using the promo code for 20% discount. I promptly received an email confirmation including my order #. Since then, every time I go online to check order status I get the message "your order is being processed. Check back tomorrow." I also sent an email to them yesterday but have gotten no response. Also, the charge hasn't shown up on my credit card yet. Makes me think they're out of stock again.

Weather not showing up

Got my dock today and plugged it up. However it doesn't show any weather information. My town is correctly set in the weather setup. Does anyone have any ideas?

Got my Droid...love it. Got the dock...love it. Got the car dealio...not so sure. It doesn't really seem strong enough for the weight of the Droid! Silly!

My Droid dims just fine, but the weather dealio at the bottom quit. I still get the correct city when I go to the weather setup, and the temperature still appears in the "toolbar" area at the top, but all I see at the bottom now is "--F". All else seems to be good to go. Minor glitch, or indicative of a DEEPER ISSUE?? Stay tuned...:greendroid:

+1 for screen being too bright while dimmed.

Even pressing the lightbulb button and making everything turn light blue is still too bright. It doesn't really seem to change the brightness that much anyway, rather the color just seems to be softer. I agree that the next software update needs to include a dimmer screen option when acting as alarm clock in dock.

+another 1 dimmed screen is just too bright!

can't toss out the old alarm clock just yet. I have to turn the screen off (press the little button on top) so I can use the alarm feature. but it sure would be nice to let it do what it is intended for.

It just lights up an entire darkened bedroom (drives my wife nuts)

can they fix it?

Yeah, way, way too bright when dimmed. I hate alarm clocks that light up my dark bedroom when I'm trying to sleep. Changing from a somewhat colorful background to a dark blue/green background does not cut it. Even a completely black display will be too bright as long as the LCD backlight isn't dimmed way down.

the display turns off after awhile...

and all droid have the lightbulb that makes it dimmer/brighter, it's in the software

I am referring to operation when docked in the alarmclock/multimedia station cradle. My screen does not turn off after a while in that mode.

And my complaint is that the screen is "too bright when dimmed" using the lightbulb icon that appears at the bottom of the alarmclock/mediaplayer mode. What we really need is a setting that would let us adjust the dimmed screen brightness without changing the undimmed alarmclock and normal use brightness. Are you saying there is such a setting in the software?
