Apologies - didnt see the OP response. I do agree with you that this is likely not the cause of my problems with Voice - especially given that non-Voice calls (incoming and outgoing) work fine.
hello everyone...I just registered here on this forum and am having the same trouble with my new Droid. I am doing the 30 day trial and this is only my third day.
My phone will show full service strength (3G) and when I tap the phone icon the bars just bounce from full to none and will continue to do so. When I leave the phone alone for a period of time the bars will show full.
I am less than a half mile from the verizon tower so I know I should be getting great service.
Should I exchange this thing? What are my options?

Well I use google voice for all calls and I have never dropped a call. Worst I've had is a couple times it couldn't dial using GVoice and I had to dial without it.
