droid inc 2 dial pad wont open and contacts not showing up in texts

My dial pad won't open when I need to make a call. I press the phone icon and usually the pad pops right up, but when I click it now, a little label above the phone icon reads phone". Yes, I know that's the phone and I'm trying to use it. No need to just have that appear and not allow me to use it -__-. Also my contacts names aren't showing up in my text messages. Only the number shows and I've gone to setting to make sure the show only numbers isn't checked but it still isn't working. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!
