Droid: R.I.P.

Good news. I dropped by the Verizon store and asked about my insurance. Luckily, I've got it.

As great as that is, I'm torn. On one hand, I've got a friend of a friend that's looking to sell his OG Droid for $75-$100, OR I can file a claim and get a replacement (which could be a Droid 1 or 2) for $89.

I need some help deciding. Influence me.

The Insurance replacement is covered for the future. Your friends Droid 1 would not be covered so if the replacement from your friend was damaged in water or just stopped working you'd be out of luck. I'd go with the warranty.

Well, that's all that took. I never considered that. Thank you sir.

xmguy, would it matter if I filed the claim later? Like, got the cheaper Droid 1 first then filed insurance on the other one if that one broke?

I was thinking about that. I'm not sure if you can. I'd call VZW and see. Since they are not getting any money for the replacement then they should be nothing if not honest.
