Droid RAZR MAXX won't turn on!

Actually, I had already tried that... did not work, but I tried it again anyway-still didn't work. then I thought to myself it holding the power button & the volume down button usually turn off a frozen phone, why not try holding the power button with the volume up button? IT WORKED!!!! Is this something I should be worried about, or is this a "normal" issue for this phone?:hail:

Thank you Amy! I had the same issue and read your post about holding the power and volume down button simultaneously and it actually turned the phone back on. Saved me a trip to the Verizon store. Thanks again. dancedroid

I think holding the power button and volume up does nothing... at least not on my phone.. it just turns up the volume... perhaps it was just holding the power button down?? Idk.. but glad you got it handled.

Thanks

My phone did the same thing glad that there's that little trick
otherwise i'd of lost a brand new droid to a flaw hope tthis never happens again.

P.S. I think that the power+volume was a developer failsafe that restores the phone to a set time which is saved every few seconds to prevent major losses on the phone.

First of all, it is a pleasure to be here-I've never joined a forum before! I couldn't even find how to post my question, so I'm unfortunatley going to do it here. I promise to venture around the site more tomorrow, but it is getting late here, and I desperately need help. My Droid shut itself off (I think), anyway-it is completely black & I cannot turn it back on. It was at least 50-60% charged when this happened, but I know sometime the battery can drain really fast for no apparent reason to me, so I have had it charging for 4 1/2 hours and still nothing! Is there some kind of trick to turn it back on like there is to turn it off when it freezes?? Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me----I DREAD going to the Verizon store to try to fix this, and I need my phone!! Amy

Hi to all!
Thanks for this great forum!! I have same problem as Amy, but tricks with power+volume/down/up are not working for me. Just bought razr maxx yesterday, charge it to 100pct, played with it a bit and went to sleep. In the morning I found razr completely dead and I must say it freaks me out that its dead :) Buttons not responding. So I just plug in original M charger. No led indication, no display showing battery charging animation, no nothing :) Now charging for 4hrs and still no reaction to buttons, no led indication...

Previously I had old Nokia 6120 (yea I know I know its history, but its working 100pct anytime/anywhere) and I guess I was used to not to bother myself with battery state, because when I plug my old phone into charger, it worked right away... Guess this is not the case with new Android phones ? From what I have read in this thread, it is always necessary (better) to keep it plugged in the charger overnight/watch battery state carefully ? If so, it would be wise from manufacturers of new phones to state this WARNING for dummies like me on the 1st page of manual with say 20pt Tahoma font in big red box :) so dummies like me would not start runing & screaming all the way down to M service station :)

Anyway thanks for this forum and thread and all help from experienced users!
All the best

"Loser", I have had some problems with the battery discharging too fast, but nothing like that. Hopefully the other guru's on here will know what to do. They have helped me so much. In fact, I will be searching the forum for another problem I'm having very soon. Such a good resource-they're awesome .

Hi Amy, thanks for reply. Well, two months later and 1 phone sys board dead I am again online with new razr maxx :) According to guys from Motorola service it was bad phone right from manufacturing... Guess as always I am a lucky guy to enjoy services almost for any device I bought :) May be I should consider change of career to servicing devices :)

Have a great year 2013 !!!

Thank you everybody! I do have the smart actions set and task killer set to kill all apps. It is now charged to 100% and will let it discharge and follow your remaining advice. I really can't thank you enough. How do you become so knowledgeable about all this stuff...there's so much! I am so grateful for people like you.
How did you make the task killer, kill apps?
