Droid razr or Droid razr maxx?

I think you will find that a lot of people are only turning on 4G when they have some serious surfing to do. Otherwise they leave the phone on 3G. In other words if you don't immediately need the extra speed don't pay the battery draining price for it. YMMV!!

Good luck.

I have 4G on all day plus GPS. In fact, I just put it on the charger after 13 hours and still have 50%. If I kept it off, I could easily get another 3-4 hours of medium to heavy constant use on wifi.

My average day is about:

(10) 10 min. phone calls
(1) 30-40 min phone call
10 texts
1 1/2 - 2 hours browsing
Twitter and facebook updates all day
60 emails
2 hours of games (right now, it's Monopoly)
From 5:00 pm on, it's on wifi with GPS and bluetooth off.

The key is understanding smart actions. Before I started using them, I was lucky to last to 20% in 8 hours. Taking 30 mins. to set them up according to my schedule nearly doubled my battery life. If it hadn't, I would have returned the phone and saved my upgrade.

I wouldn't say that the razr maxx is super thin..it almost as width as the bionic or even more...it looks like the thunderbolt from the side..

When they put the razr and razr maxx together..the razr was 1/3 as thin..

If the Razr was flush from the camera hump, and went straight down, that's how thick the maxx is. It looks like any other phone w/an extended battery: a bloated form of itself.

The RAZR isn't 1/3 of the maxx either, more like 7/9.

Actually there is a slight hump but not significant like in the RAZR. The back slopes inward slightly just under the camera similar to the RAZR but goes flat almost immediately afterwards.

The hump is crucial for keeping the phone from lying flat on the table since the speaker port is on the back and if the phone did lay flat it would cover the speaker hole completely and dramatically reduce the speaker volume level. You can simulate how it would sound by placing the phone on a table and pressing down on the top where the Motorola badge on the front is while playing music or while in a call.

The Bionic is 11mm thick, while the Razr Maxx is only 8.9MM thick. So the Bionic is 2.1mm thicker than the Razr Maxx.

The Razr is 7.1mm thick, so 1.8mm thinner than the Razr Maxx.

I easily get 13 hours and I never use the 3g unless I'm forced I also use wifi when it's around aka I'm at work or home but when I'm out for work I use 4G I tether to my tablet as well...

My opinion probably does not matter much here considering I am new to Android phones... but I can say that the battery life on the original Droid razr is actually superb for a top of the line 4g-capable phone and there is no need to sacrifice the sleek look and thin design for a bulkier phone with an extended battery. IMO.. if you are someone who really considers battery as a foremost point then you might as well hold your current phone until apple comes out with their 100-hour battery life phone in the near future.

For curiosity, for all of you Droid razr owners, if you had a choice , what would you choice? The super slim and sexy Droid razr with a not good battery life or a fatter less appealing Droid razr maxx with 3000 battery?

I love my razor.now if the razor max had a quad core processor than i may be interested.

Yup untill i see a massive cpu/ram video change i don't care quad core will be near the end of the year if not in 2013 because of battery life issues with dual core by then i will have my upgrade buying the droid Krazr (<--- lol good joke hope some one got that )

What smart actions do you have set? Cause I get that much with 3g on?

I'd bet money that they'll come out with a Droid KRAZR.

When I get some time I'll post them in detail. The biggest battery savers are what I call "Data On" and "Data Off". When the screen is on, cellular data and GPS are on. When the screen is off, cellular data and GPS is off. The only drawback is not getting push email and other data, but I check my phone often enough that I don't miss anything important. Today, I had 80% at 10 hours of use, so manipulating the smart actions properly pays off.

So are you going to buy one to upgrade from your outdated bionic? Just saying since your preaching the Og razr is obsolete on every forum post, I am not saying your trolling or anything but your getting pretty close.

Back on the subject on the Og razr flip how many were there? like razr krazr etc?

As a Razr owner, I like the phone but could use more battery.
I don't want to trade my Razr for a Razr Maxx, but if I was buying now, I'd go for the Maxx.
